Electronic mail should be treated just as
you would the old fashion snail mail. The same principles apply to
writing mail, filing mail, address books. You may not meet your
correspondents face to face. Your e-mail creates an impression about
you and your business. Make sure that you pay attention to small
things that mean a lot. First impressions count.
NEVER assume that an e-mail has been delivered.
NEVER assume that you will get a notification is
something goes wrong.
NEVER assume that even if it has been delivered that it
has been read.
IF it is really
important ask for a confirmation, not notification, but a reply from
the person directly. If it is time sensitive, phone and let the
person know it should be coming for there.
